what's the big deal with sufjan stevens

[lol i'm starting over]

Isn't it awesome that we get to worship God? Like, we get to be saved from sin and have the ability to worship and adore Him. Everyone in the world should worship Him, but we get to actually do it.
-----
Mrs. Cheveley. Ah! the strength of women comes from the fact that psychology cannot explain us. Men can be analysed, women . . . merely adored.
Sir Robert Chiltern. You think science cannot grapple with the problem of women?
Mrs. Cheveley. Science can never grapple with the irrational.

--An Ideal Husband
[i think that quote is still pertinent, ha]

Please pray for the Youth Retreat....wait...i mean for Worthy, ha (i don't think i'm ever gonna get used to that. Oh well....hey at least it's my last one) I really think God's going to meet us there in incredible ways!! It's so kool, he's given me a ton of anticipation for this one in particular.

uh, this is really kool:

You know you're living in 2006 when...

8.01.2006

1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.
2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.
3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of three.
4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.
5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses.
6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone's home to help you carry in the groceries.
7. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen.
8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go back and get it.
10. You get up in the morning and go online before getting your coffee.
11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. :)
12. You're reading this and nodding or laughing.
13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message.
14. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list.
15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9 on this list.
AND NOW U R LAUGHING at yourself.

sad isn't it.

Let's see....
The 3rd Halo book, The First Stike is pretty rockin awesome. Better than the 2nd book DEFINITELY and just as good as the 1st.

what else...uh.....Mississippi's really dusty and HOT and sticky....gross weather but great to see my fam again....Emily Nicole (isn't that the cutest name!!?) is 2 weekds old with a TON of black hair that's spiky and fuzzy and sticks straight up....my aunt and uncle call her their baby rockstar ;) She's adorable. And God is so good, he's given me so much grace on this trip. Like, not in the way i'd expect it either--the pain's still getting in the way of serving in certain ways but it's forced me to be creative with what i'm able to do...find new ways to serve....

Timothy Zahn is such a good writer. Ugh. it's not fair... Every time i read something well writen i despair of ever writing again. Sigh. I wish i could really WRITE....to be able to come up with a well crafted storyline, and create dialogue that actually comes from the characters and makes SENSE... And wow Grand Admiral Thrawn is kool.

In an old house in Paris all covered in vines, lived twelve little girls in two straight lines...Madeline is running through my head like CRAZY. That's what too much time helping little cousins on the computer'll do to you. ARG...french words spoken in an annoying high squeaky little girl's voice combined with an obnoxious tendancy towards rhyming everything (and with really dumb rhymes at that) is prolly the worst combination anyone could come up with....... and they made a game out of it. and TV show. and a book series. AND stuffed animals...and clothes....and about everthing they could fit "i love Madeline" onto... oh the JOY. haha. "And that's all there is...there isn't anymore."

Ever been to the beach on P e r c o c e t??

7.19.2006

::laughs::

Ugggh i've been such a spacehead lately. Life's been really weird. And most of the time i can't do anything except sit in my blueish green chair in my dark basement and stare at my tanish wall and the brown bookshelf next to it. I wish i could say something profound but....

uh....

well....

....nope can't think of anything. hmmm.

question: If you're playing 20 questions can you come up with something like "the theory of transendentalism" or is that illegal?

Why isn't it plaguerism to steal someone's song name?

uh, yeah anyways. you can see i've been VERY insightful of late. ha.

Here's something tho...it's not mine but Josh Harris's from a couple weeks ago.

-How much does it cost to follow Jesus? Everything. But this God who asks everything also GAVE everything when He died for us.

"Do not grow weary in serving, fighting your sin, or enduring a trial. Your rest is coming, BUT it is not here yet. Jesus said 'take up your cross and follow me.' Has He told you to lay down your cross? Yes, there is a cost. But God will give you the grace you need, more than you need. The trouble we face is fleeting; there is no comparison to the glory that awaits us! Yes, there is a cross--but there is also an eternal crown! God will be and is more than enough for you. So do not grow weary."

Names

7.09.2006

Call me crazy if you want...but I love picking out names!! And uh, my poor kids, I like names that to me sound really really kool and different, but other people usually think I'm nuts =p  So here's my most recent list of kids, for no real reason at all, just for me to remember mostly, I think they're kool and some of the meanings are really good too:

- William (k so this one isn't too creative but i wanna have my oldest be Will. Means 'Valiant Protector')
- Karis (it's supposed to be Charis from Greek meaning… grace gift or something but with a K it looks kooler)
- Ransom (Aah! I love this name! in some announcement at church or something it said this couple named their son Ransom…and it sounds like, medieval or something. And the meaning's kool too, 'Son of the Shield, Redeemer')
- Aryélle (I've always wanted a name with and accent mark…It looks like it's from another language. Ugh English would be so much kooler with accents and stuff…Anyways this is like Ariel except…that's way too much like Little Mermaid (bleck) So I made this name…the difference is the long A like fAther, and the accent on the E putting the stress there. It's really fun to write too :) ) Ariel means 'Lioness of God'
- Here I need another boy name…. something more creative than Michael! Cause that's my grandad's name and my mom tried to name each of us that….except the small fact we were all girls…so that didn't work too well… anyways unless I find a super kool guy name, Mike it'll have to be. Means 'Who is like God'

Hehe all this assuming I actually have that many kids and in that order….uh, unlikely… Oh well.

Other names…
Mickayla with the nickname Mickle
Shi (girl's name…like shy except not :p )
Apple (girl name again….yeah most people think this is really stupid but SERIOUSLY like, picture a little girl with curly blond hair and green eyes….i think it's cute. Ha.)
Daisy…(uh…maybe…or not…)

So, yeah for whatever that's worth
